Opblog supplemental

I know I'm not supposed to take off my support stocking until next Tuesday, but I managed to spill beer on my last clean one last night while reaching for the wrong wireless mouse so I have thrown caution to the wind and gone au naturel. After nearly five weeks of having my leg wrapped up it feels a little strange to feel the wind whistling up my left trouser leg once more. If I keel over with a rogue thrombosis in the next couple of days you will know the reason why.

Everything has healed up fine. The pinhole incisions on my leg are starting to fade and the 5 centimetre long scar in my groin has knitted together since the last stitch came out a week ago. Looking at my leg in the mirror, the bulge where the vein ran along the top of my thigh has now gone completely and I no longer get the dull, throbbing ache that I used to feel whenever I had been standing for more than a couple of minutes.

Was it worth having the operation, and the four weeks of recovery time afterwards? Yes. I would say so.
