I left the house at twenty past seven this morning after a somewhat restless night. I'm always the same if I know I've got to get up at a particular time - without fail I'll wake up every hour or so to look at the alarm clock and check that it is still set to go off at the requisite time. Writing last night's blog left me in a reflective mood with a lot of things buzzing round in my head. I have forebodings that I know are unfounded but it is difficult to rationalize them away.
The drive was fine - a smidge under three hours, including a comfort stop where I got tempted by a white chocolate lemon flavoured Kit Kat. Very nice, but the chocolate crumbled onto my trousers whilst I was driving. Not good.
We've just had the first demo of the timesheet system and it is working after a fashion. There is an awful lot of work still to do, including all of the data synchronization issues between the internet facing web server and the internal system and the reporting requirements. I've just found out that we are supposed to be demonstrating it to the big boss on the seventh of September, which is frighteningly close. I wonder if he'll be bought off sufficiently with a rigged demo to buy us a bit more time to implement it properly?
